The 18th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament

The 18th Annual Thomas Jefferson School of Law Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament held at Sycuan Golf Resort on Friday, October 11 raised scholarship money for TJSL students who provide pro bono legal services for San Diego veterans through the VLAC, in collaboration with Veterans Village of San Diego.

“The proceeds from the Golf Tournament go into a fund that provides scholarships for the outstanding students in the Veterans Clinic each semester,” said VLAC Director Professor Berenson. “These students deserve the support they receive.”

Before the 67 golfers took to the course in a shotgun start, scramble format, some participants purchased raffle tickets to help boost the proceeds. The donated raffle prizes from individuals and businesses included a Taylormade RBZ Rocketballz Driver, Anthony Bass Autographed Baseball Cap, two Kindle FireHD’s, restaurant gift certificates, and gift baskets.

TJSL Alumni Relations Director Vanessa Vandever said she is grateful for all the generous sponsors that make the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament a benefit for the Veterans Clinic. “A special thanks goes out to Sabrina Green ’02, Brett Goda ‘11 and Jeremy Evans ’11 for all their hard work to make the tournament a success,” said Vandever. “I truly appreciate the three of them helping to organize the entire event.”
